Kia skipped the 2026 model year entirely and replaced its best-selling SUV with a bigger, squarer, more expensive one. The V6 is gone, a hybrid has arrived, and the price ladder now tops out just under $60,000. The deals, as usual, depend entirely on which trim you want: the factory owns the cheap end of the lineup, dealers are fighting at the top, and the middle is sitting at sticker price across New England. We checked the bodystyle, the reviews, and the actual offers.
A new bodystyle, not a facelift
The second-generation Telluride, revealed in November 2025 and on sale since the spring, keeps nothing but the name and the mission. The design follows Kia's Opposites United language and leans hard into upright and boxy: vertical LED headlights with Star Map lighting graphics, a large grid-style grille, flush door handles, and smooth flanks that draw Range Rover comparisons in nearly every review. It is a genuinely larger vehicle than the one it replaces:
| Dimension | 2025 (first gen) | 2027 (new) | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Length | 196.9 in | 199.2 in | +2.3 in |
| Wheelbase | 114.2 in | 116.9 in | +2.7 in |
| Width | 78.3 in | 78.3 in | unchanged |
| Cargo behind 3rd row | 21.0 cu ft | 22.3 cu ft | +1.3 cu ft |
| Maximum cargo | 87.0 cu ft | 89.3 cu ft | +2.3 cu ft |
| Second-row legroom | 42.4 in | 43.0 in | +0.6 in |
The growth goes where families feel it: the second and third rows both gain legroom, and cargo space grows in every configuration. Gas models still offer an 8-passenger bench on lower trims; the Hybrid is 7-passenger only, with captain's chairs. Ten colors include two new ones worth knowing, Black Jade Green and Terrain Brown, the latter available in matte.
The V6 is gone
Every 2027 Telluride runs a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. In the gas model it makes 274 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. That is 17 fewer horsepower than the old 3.8-liter V6 but 49 more lb-ft of torque, and it changes the character more than the spec sheet suggests: stronger pull at low revs, but Car and Driver measured 0 to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds, about half a second slower than the V6 it replaces. Fuel economy is roughly a wash at 22 mpg combined for front-wheel drive. Maximum towing drops from the old X-Pro's 5,500 pounds to 5,000.
The headline powertrain is the first Telluride Hybrid: the same turbo four plus two electric motors, good for 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft, with up to 35 mpg combined in the front-wheel-drive EX and an EPA-estimated range of up to 637 miles. Edmunds tested it at 7.0 seconds to 60, quicker than the gas model and quicker than the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, and rated it 8.1 out of 10. The trade-offs are real: the Hybrid tows 4,500 pounds, comes only with seven seats, and cannot be had in the off-road X-Pro trim, which stays gas-only with 9.1 inches of ground clearance and an electronic limited-slip differential.
Trims and prices
The ladder is long. Twelve gas configurations run from the LX at $39,190 to the X-Pro SX Prestige at $56,790; six Hybrid configurations run from the EX at $46,490 to the X-Line SX Prestige at $57,590, the most expensive Telluride Kia has ever sold. Destination adds $1,545 to every one of those numbers, so the real entry price is $40,735. Against the last first-generation model, the base price is up about $2,850 including the destination increase, and top trims are up roughly $3,100. The warranty that helped make the old one famous is unchanged: 5 years and 60,000 miles basic, 10 years and 100,000 miles on the powertrain.
What the reviewers found
The consensus is strong with specific complaints. The cabin is the star: roomier, near-luxury in the top trims, and quiet, with Edmunds measuring the Hybrid at 63.8 decibels at 70 mph, quieter than the Palisade Hybrid. The hybrid powertrain draws the best reviews, with seamless power and the strongest performance in the lineup. The gas engine earns praise for low-end torque. The criticisms repeat across outlets: the grille designs divide opinion, the gas model is slower than the V6 it replaced, prices have crept into territory where the Telluride used to be the discount alternative, and there is no hands-free highway driving system. None of it changes the basic verdict. This is the segment benchmark, now with a hybrid the old one always needed.
Where the best deals are, checked October 2026
Here is the pattern the listings show. Kia's factory lease program is the best deal on the volume trims and no dealer we found beats it on those. The dealer-level competition is real only at the top of the lineup, where credit-union lease structures and purchase discounts live. Everything below was checked on dealer specials pages and listings in October 2026; offers carry end dates and most expire within days of each other. Filter by what you are doing:
Kia factory program: Telluride S AWD
$449/mo
The cheapest way into the new bodystyle. Kia Finance America advertises the S AWD at $449 a month with $3,999 due at signing, and the same payment buys either a 24-month or a 36-month lease. Take the 36: identical money, a year more of truck, roughly $50 a month better in effective cost. Available at any Kia dealer through November 2, 2026.
Quirk Kia South: X-Line SX Prestige (gas)
$587/mo
The cheapest top-trim gas lease we found anywhere in this research: $587 a month, $4,085 due at signing, 36 months, $24,630 paid over the lease. This is the trim level where dealer discounting actually exists. Offer ends October 31, 2026.
Quirk Kia South: Hybrid X-Line SX Prestige
$598/mo
The lowest Hybrid payment we found: $598 a month, $5,096 due at signing, 36 months, $26,026 paid over the lease. The Hybrid is also the best Telluride to drive, which makes this the sweet spot of the whole lineup this month. Offer ends October 31, 2026.
Quirk Kia Braintree: Hybrid X-Line SX Prestige
$633/mo
Same truck, different structure: $633 a month but only $4,132 due at signing, the least cash up front of the top-trim Hybrid offers. Total paid over the lease is $26,287, roughly $3,000 less than the factory-structured version of this trim advertised elsewhere at $678 a month with $5,572 due. Offer ends October 31, 2026.
Quirk Kia Manchester: Telluride S, zero down
$555/mo
The no-money-down route: $555 a month for 36 months with no down payment, just the $499 doc fee due at signing plus tax and title. The factory S lease is cheaper overall, but if keeping cash in your pocket matters more than the lowest total, this is the structure to ask for. Offer ends October 31, 2026.
Capital City Kia, Concord NH: X-Pro discounts
$2,375 off MSRP, listed
The deepest listed discount on a 2027 we found in New England: an X-Pro SX Prestige listed at $57,649 against a $59,375 sticker. The store adds a $649 admin fee, and $750 loyalty or $500 military can stack for buyers who qualify. Listed prices change fast, so confirm before you drive.
Herb Chambers Kia, Burlington MA
$943 to $1,007 off MSRP
Multiple 2027 Tellurides in listings carry a Herb Chambers Discount in this range, with a $499 doc prep fee. Not the deepest cut in the region, but it is an actual discount on a truck most Massachusetts dealers are holding at sticker.
Kia factory finance and conditional cash
3.99% APR, 48 months
Kia Finance offers 3.99 percent for 48 months on gas and Hybrid alike, stepping up with term. On top of that sit conditional offers on nearly every dealer page: $750 loyalty, $750 competitive bonus, $750 bonus cash on select models, $500 military. Qualify for one and an at-sticker dealer effectively discounts the truck.
Two more findings belong in the open. First, the volume trims (LX, S, EX) sit at MSRP at nearly every New England dealer we checked, and at least one prominent store, Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury, lists every 2027 Telluride at sticker plus its $595 doc fee with no discount at all. Second, the leftover clearance story is thin here: because there is no 2026, the leftovers are 2025s, surviving New England examples carry modest discounts of roughly $750 to $2,000 in the listings we found, and the $4,000-plus discounts paired with Kia Dealer Choice cash are in high-inventory markets like Washington and Texas, not here.
The cross-shop you should not skip. The Hyundai Palisade was redesigned alongside the Telluride and its Hybrid uses the identical 329-horsepower powertrain, but it starts at $43,660, about $2,800 less than the Telluride Hybrid, and the gas Palisade keeps a V6 for buyers who want one. The Telluride counters with the quieter cabin, the quicker hybrid, and the longer warranty. On total cost, a Telluride Hybrid leased at the Quirk South or Braintree numbers above closes most of the sticker gap. Run both quotes before you sign either.
How to shop it
- On the S trim, take the factory lease and the longer term. Same payment and same money due for 24 or 36 months means the 36-month lease is about $50 a month cheaper in effective cost. Any dealer can write it.
- On the top trims, negotiate, because that is where the money is. Dealer discounts and credit-union lease structures cluster on SX and SX Prestige trims. Compare the total paid over the lease, not the monthly payment: the two Hybrid offers above differ by $35 a month and nearly $1,000 in cash due at signing, and the cheaper-looking one is not the cheaper one by much.
- Stack the conditional cash. Loyalty, competitive, bonus, and military offers of $500 to $750 each appear on nearly every dealer page. Ask which ones you qualify for before you accept an at-sticker price.
- Watch the fees, not just the discount. Doc and admin fees on the deals above run from $499 to $649 before tax and title. A $2,375 discount with a $649 fee is a $1,726 discount.
- Mind the end dates. The dealer offers above end October 31 and the factory program ends November 2, 2026. New programs land monthly, and a redesigned model six months into its run usually gets better, not worse, support as inventory builds.
