Buying guidance
Connecticut has 15 franchised Subaru dealerships, and this guide ranks every one of them. The order below is CarThrive's editorial ranking, built from each store's verified Google rating and review count, checked on October 13, 2026. It is one of the strongest statewide fields we cover: eight of the 15 stores rate 4.7 stars or higher. No dealership pays for placement, and every figure shown comes straight from the store's Google listing.
1. Reynolds' Subaru — Lyme Reynolds' Subaru in Lyme holds the highest Google rating of any Subaru store in Connecticut: 4.9 stars from 762 reviews. A small shoreline store tops a field full of much larger rooftops.
2. Mitchell Subaru — Canton Mitchell Subaru in Canton rates 4.8 stars from 2,665 reviews — the second-highest rating in the state, backed by one of its deepest review bases, serving the Farmington Valley.
3. Dan Perkins Subaru — Milford Dan Perkins Subaru in Milford rates 4.7 stars from 4,258 reviews — the largest review count of any Subaru dealership in Connecticut.
4. Colonial Subaru — Danbury Colonial Subaru in Danbury rates 4.7 stars from 3,136 reviews, the anchor store for western Connecticut.
5. Bertera Subaru of Hartford — Hartford Bertera Subaru of Hartford rates 4.7 stars from 3,096 reviews in the capital city.
6. Garavel Subaru — Norwalk Garavel Subaru in Norwalk rates 4.7 stars from 2,012 reviews, leading Fairfield County's contingent.
7. Subaru Stamford — Stamford Subaru Stamford rates 4.7 stars from 1,991 reviews.
8. Holmgren Subaru — North Franklin Holmgren Subaru in North Franklin rates 4.7 stars from 1,715 reviews, the strongest store in eastern Connecticut.
9. Premier Subaru Middlebury — Middlebury Premier Subaru Middlebury rates 4.7 stars from 1,302 reviews. It is the stronger of Premier's two Connecticut stores in this ranking.
10. Suburban Subaru — Vernon Suburban Subaru in Vernon leads the 4.6-star group on review depth: 2,588 reviews.
11. Gengras Subaru — Torrington Gengras Subaru in Torrington rates 4.6 stars from 811 reviews in the northwest corner.
12. Secor Subaru — New London Secor Subaru in New London rates 4.6 stars from 554 reviews on the shoreline.
13. Quality Subaru — Wallingford Quality Subaru in Wallingford rates 4.5 stars from 616 reviews.
14. Premier Subaru — Branford Premier Subaru in Branford rates 4.4 stars from 1,452 reviews — a solid review base, but the rating trails its Middlebury sister store by three-tenths.
15. Schaller Subaru — Berlin Schaller Subaru in Berlin rates 4.4 stars from 956 reviews. It sits minutes from Hartford, but its rating is the joint-lowest in the state — the clearest room-to-climb story in this guide.
How to choose: Subaru buyers in Connecticut are spoiled — most of the state lives within reach of a 4.7-star store. Start with your nearest highly rated option, then weigh review depth: a 4.7 backed by 4,000 reviews is a different kind of evidence than a 4.7 backed by 300. Each store's full profile, with address, phone, and website, is linked from the rankings.
How we rank: CarThrive's editorial ranking weighs each dealership's verified Google star rating first, then its total Google review count as a measure of how much customer experience sits behind the score. Figures verified October 13, 2026; ratings change over time, and profiles are refreshed as new figures are verified.
How this ranking works
This is an editorial ranking of an editor-selected sample. The order is set by Car Thrive editors, not computed from CARFAX or Google scores. A higher-rated dealership may appear lower in this editorial ranking. Ratings and review counts are shown separately for comparison and do not determine the order. Read the editorial guidance for the reasoning behind the selections. CARFAX sources are optional. Missing ratings are marked as not yet verified; ratings without a citation are labeled source not supplied. Scores and counts are editor-attested third-party figures—not Car Thrive reviews, license checks, first-hand visits, or guarantees. Read recent sales-specific reviews and compare written out-the-door offers.
Each guide publication freezes its selected rating snapshots and order. Editors must preview and republish the guide to bring in updated linked dealership ratings or change the order.
