Buying guidance
This guide ranks every franchised Toyota dealership in Maine using Google ratings, whether you are shopping for a new Tacoma or Tundra, buying used, or booking service. The ranking is by Google star rating first and review count second, which rewards both customer satisfaction and a deep base of reviewers. The editorial order below follows that ranking exactly.
The top of the table is a three-way tie. Central Maine Toyota in Waterville, Lee Toyota in Topsham, and Downeast Toyota in Brewer all rate 4.7 stars, and Central Maine leads the group with 3,361 reviews. Berlin City Toyota in Portland heads the 4.6 star group with 2,906 reviews.
The most interesting line in the table belongs to Group 1 Toyota Saco. Its 3,813 Google reviews are the most of any Toyota store in Maine, but at 4.5 stars it ranks seventh here, a reminder that the biggest sample is not always the happiest one. Shepard Toyota in Rockland, at 4.4 stars from 266 reviews, has the smallest sample in the state, so its rating can move more easily.
One more Toyota point is not ranked: Charlie's Motor Mall in Augusta sells new Toyotas from a six-brand rooftop and rates 4.7 stars from 2,694 reviews. Because that score covers the whole rooftop rather than a Toyota-only store, it is noted here instead of ranked. Wherever you shop, compare price, availability, and service hours before you visit, and double check the store's current rating, since figures change.
How this ranking works
This is an editorial ranking of an editor-selected sample. The order is set by Car Thrive editors, not computed from CARFAX or Google scores. A higher-rated dealership may appear lower in this editorial ranking. Ratings and review counts are shown separately for comparison and do not determine the order. Read the editorial guidance for the reasoning behind the selections. CARFAX sources are optional. Missing ratings are marked as not yet verified; ratings without a citation are labeled source not supplied. Scores and counts are editor-attested third-party figures—not Car Thrive reviews, license checks, first-hand visits, or guarantees. Read recent sales-specific reviews and compare written out-the-door offers.
Each guide publication freezes its selected rating snapshots and order. Editors must preview and republish the guide to bring in updated linked dealership ratings or change the order.
